Zulia: Tejiendo Redes National Program begins training process for 250 fisherwomen and processors within the framework of GMVM

As part of the Great Venezuela Women’s Mission, the Ministry of Fishing and Aquaculture (Minpesca), through the Fishing Fund (Fonpesca), began the training process for 250 women fisherwomen and processors in the state of Zulia, who benefited from the National Weaving Nets Program. Women fishermen from the municipalities of Mara, Maracaibo, Miranda and Cabimas will receive training in various areas: Food Handling, Occupational Health and Safety, Basic Mathematics, Business Calculation, General Accounting Principles, Planning and Cost Control, Teamwork and Network Administration. Likewise, the trainings will be carried out in coordination with the National Institute of Socialist Training and Education (INCES), as part of Vertex Two of the Great Venezuela Women’s Mission, promoted by President Nicolás Maduro, which aims to train and certify knowledge, promoting the empowerment of women and guaranteeing their training and professionalization free of charge.

National Fishing your Plastic National Program advances in the coasts of Aragua

In the framework of the World Beaches Day, the National Fishing your Plastic Program carried out a cleaning day in the coasts of Aragua state with the active participation of more than 100 fishermen and fisherwomen, who are members of the National Council of Fishermen, Fisherwomen, Fish Farmers and Aquaculturists (CONPPA) of the state. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the State Government, Civil Protection, PNB, INEA, GNB – Vigilancia and INPARQUES, and focused on the collection of solid waste at various strategic points in the area, including beaches, coasts and mangroves. The fishermen and fisherwomen, committed to the conservation of marine ecosystems, were deployed at key points such as La Boca, Cata, El Playón, Playa Los Cocos, Cuyagua, La Ciénaga and Catica, where they carried out an exhaustive waste collection effort, both on the surface and underwater. The Pesca tu Plástico National Program contributes to the cleanliness of our seas, rivers and lakes, encourages the sustainable development of fishing communities and promotes the circular economy by generating additional income through the collection and recycling of plastic waste. With this day, a large amount of plastic was collected, an action that reaffirms the commitment of our fishing people and the Bolivarian Government with the protection and conservation of our ecosystems, in order to guarantee a more sustainable future.

Miranda: El Cardumen Va benefited grandparents of the Simón Bolívar municipality with the donation of 300 kilos of protein.

Through the social program El Cardumen Va, framed within the framework of Operation Venezuela Come + Pescado, 300 kilos of fish protein were donated to two grandparents’ homes in the parishes of San Francisco de Yare and San Antonio de Yare, Simón Bolívar municipality, Miranda state, for the balanced nutrition of grandparents in Miranda state. From the Aldea 26 de Marzo grandparents’ house, the Regional Director of the Ministry of Fishing and Aquaculture, Johan Rodríguez, indicated that through this national policy, immersed in the Great Mission Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the Homeland, promoted by our President Nicolás Maduro, more than 100 grandparents of this locality were assisted in coordination with the Council of Popular Power of Fishermen, Fisherwomen, Fish Farmers and Aquaculture (Conppa) of the entity, committed to generate contributions of protein from the sea and aquaculture, he emphasized. During this delivery of donations, the spokesmen and spokeswomen of the Conppa Acuícolas participated in order to contribute to the strengthening of the nation’s food sovereignty, with the priority being to deepen the comprehensive care of the elderly.
